Jonah S. Rubin is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Bard. He completed a BA in Latin American Studies in 2006 and a Ph.D. in Anthropology in 2016, both at the University of Chicago. Prof. Rubin’s research interests include memory practices, science and technology, death studies, democratic politics, transitional justice, and human rights in Spain and Latin America. He has published articles in PoLAR: Political and Legal Anthropology Review, The International Journal of Transitional Justice, and the Anthropological Journal of European Cultures. Prof. Rubin’s research has been funded by the Wenner-Gren Foundation, the National Science Foundation, the Tinker Foundation, and the Jacob K. Javits Fellowship Program.
